Volunteer Coaches & Safeguarding

At Dumfries Curling, the safety and wellbeing of our players, especially juniors and vulnerable adults is our top priority. All of our volunteer coaches have the appropriate safeguarding training and are fully registered through the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme. We’re committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for everyone on the ice.

For those interested in becoming a coach, full training and support is available through Dumfries Curling.

Running Events

Volunteers play a crucial role in every aspect of event delivery. Their time, energy, and enthusiasm help create a great experience for players, visitors, and spectators alike, and are a big part of what makes our events so successful.

From preparing the ice, welcoming teams, timing and umpiring, these are vital roles in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Ice Maintainence

Maintaining high-quality ice is essential for great curling, and our ice maintenance volunteers play a key role in making that happen. Whether it's prepping the sheets before games, pebbling between draws, or helping with post-event clean-up, this behind-the-scenes work ensures a smooth and consistent playing surface for all.

No experience is needed—training is provided, and it’s a great way to learn more about what goes into the game while supporting Dumfries Curling in a big way.
