SYSTEM OF PLAY (subject to team entries)
6 Groups of 4 teams + Our Mini Festival Teams u13
3 Group Games + Tier Knockout stages
8 end games with minimum of 6 to be played
Games will be 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, ends, shots, shots +/-
Top 1 team from each group qualify for Quarter Finals.
PLUS the best 2 second placed teams
Knockout stage ranking will be done on total ends scored, then shots scored to determine the following ranking places for the Globe Trophy ¼ Finals:
Top teams from each section will be ranked 1-6
2nd placed teams will be ranked 7&8

Challenge Cup ¼ Finals
The 4 Other, 2nd placed teams PLUS the 2 best 3rd placed teams in each section will qualify for the ¼ finals.
The losing ¼ finalists will drop down into the speed cup.
Ranking will be determined as above.
Speed Cup
The final teams unseeded in the Tiers above will play the speed cup along with the losing Challenge Cup 1/4finalists.
Rules will be provided as a separate handout before the session starts.
Pot Lid Cup
The bottom placed Teams in the Speed Cup will play in the Pot Lid Semi Final or Final depending on Final Numbers.
PRE TOURNAMENT PRACTICE
Practice is available on Thursday 11th April from 2pm-8pm – contact info@dumfriescurling.co.uk to book. This will be charged at £4 per head
GAME TIMING
All games are 8 ends with a minimum of 6 ends to be played
Teams are reminded that ends will be used to determine ranking and are encouraged to play all 8 ends.
Teams are also asked to keep a good speed of play in each end to avoid delay for following sessions.
PRE-GAME PRACTICE
There is no pre-game practice. A coin toss will be used to determine hammer until the knockout stages
COACH INTERACTIONS
Teams are entitled to one coach interaction per game. The coach interaction may last up to 60 seconds from the coach’s arrival at the relevant end of the ice. Coaches should make their way promptly to the ice hall to avoid delaying games. An umpire will indicate when there are 10 seconds remaining. An additional one coach interaction will be given to teams in the case of an extra end.
SCOREBOARD
Please update the scoreboard promptly at the completion of each end. Scores will be displayed on CurlingZone. Results will be posted within the curling hall for teams.
MEASURES
Teams are asked to complete any required measures, please ask for umpire assistance if required.
BRUSHES
WCF regulation brush pads will be required or Dumfries Ice Bowl Club Brushes can be used.

Direct from Airport to Edinburgh Waverly Station – Tram (£5 pp) or Taxi (approx. £20 for vehicle)
Train to Lockerbie Station 1hr (approx. £13.00 pp one way or £20 pp return)
Glasgow Central Station – Lockerbie Train Station 1 hr
Please call +447834980442 when train departs Glasgow or Edinburgh to allow us to meet you at Lockerbie Station to transfer to Dumfries (30mins)
Stagecoach bus X74 – direct from Glasgow centre to Dumfries is about 2 hours [operates every hour]
There are a number of National Car Hire Companies, which operate from both Airports.

Direct Bus available from Dumfries to Glasgow – X74 Service approx. every hour
To travel to Edinburgh by bus it is best to use X74 to Glasgow and then CityLink 900 which stops at Edinburgh Airport or Megabus

Teams are invited to the Curling Lounge on Saturday 13th April from 5pm – 6pm.
Teams are asked to share a drink with their opposition after games.
